8.11 Sketchy Thursdays Challenge

Since this weekend has been full of rain downpours, I've been able to work on a few challenges.

Here is my take on the sketch. These are pictures of my husband as the Quarterback in the Glen Burnie Flag Football Tournament.
Used: The Paper Studio football word mix pattern paper, Bazzill cardstock, OAM Scrapbook decor cardstock stickers, Maya Road chipboard, Misc brads & white Uniball pen.

Today's Thursday Blog Feature is.......

COMME COCO Which is french I believe...( I only took Spanish in School....LOL)
So, I met Jennifer last month  as we have a mutual male aquaintance. (For those that know me, most of the males I hang around play flagfootball...I met/know some of the nicest guys thru this sport...) Anyway, I knew that she was down to earth as first impressions are lasting impressions. This lady DOES NOT scrapbook (but her sister does...which is close enough)... however, she is one "crafty lady". She has a craft for fashion....check out her blog Comme-Coco and show her some love! Let her know that the Scorpian Crafter sent ya.

I Love this outfit...from the suspenders to the melon pants down to the rockin shoes. Something that "us" thick girls can ROCK too!!! I've just ordered those shoes...can't wait for them to arrive!

Sketchy Thursday's September Guest DT Challenge

I decided to participate in the September Guest DT Challenge at Sketchy Thursday's. This gave me a chance to finally cut up my recent Basic Grey purchase..."Out of Print"!!!

Below is the sketch with a "twist". The twist was to use a theme about reading.

So I chose pictures from our weekend at "Girls Night INN" celebrating Queen Kat's birthday. This picture is of Kat & her BFF sitting on the porch. Which is a great place to read. So, I pulled out my "Out of Print" pattern paper & embellishments along with a few Echo Park "For the Record" embellishments and started punching those circles.
The quote "Friendship is the best gift" is quoted from one of my sons favorite series books by Jeff Kinney "Wimpy Kids". I just read the 5th installment entitled " Diary of a Wimpy Kid...the Ugly Truth". This quote & the meaning of friendship were throughout the book. Now I know why my son loves each of Kinney's books. They all have great stories that relate to everyday life.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL??

I have been in football overdrive this month! Hubbie is a "free agent" QB for local flag football teams. Kyle has made the 11U Division 1 Tackle football team & FRIDAY the REDSKINS Pre-season begins!!!

I am not only a QB Wifey & a QB Mommy...I am a REDSKINS fan for LiFE!!!!

I'm definately READY for some FOOTBALL!!!

Yummy Pattern Paper

I was able to sneak away from my football weekend to go to Great Scraps, my local scrapbook store. I came upon some yummy Basic Grey & an new company called Authentique. I love all of Authentiques lines...but restrained myself to only purchase 2 of them. The paper is double sided & heavy weight...besides being super cute! Can't wait to "cut up this paper" and CREATE!
